Hold Fast

It's more my mantra to let go, to ease away.  But there are reminders for me here. Just sidewalks apart from one another.  This grasshopper and the murals of concrete Brooklyn.

Hold fast.

I've never seen a grasshopper before, I told Tyler.

How is that possible? he asked.

The truth is...I don't know.  But I don't recall having ever seen one.  Not for real.

  1. Great photo...are you becoming an expert on me? And yes, how have you never seen a grasshopper before? This makes me laugh. But I do like the mantra. Hold fast.

  2. So you took that picture of the grasshopper??? Wow! So cool.

And how have you not seen a grasshopper before? You must have grown up in a city or something. ;)

  3. City girl ;) In the summer in Virginia, you can drive down a country road and see grasshoppers springing in every direction - I've even had them take a trip from one point to another on my windshield. Pretty cool.

  4. I think you should moonlight as a photographer...after your day job and writing job :)

  5. You know, I don't think I've ever seen a grasshopper before, either. Though I've seen plenty of crickets--does that count? :) Beautiful photos!

  6. Hold fast -- a great reminder that many (so many) things are worth keeping and fighting for. Love it!
